Nathan’s Teaching Style

Nathan has nearly a decade of experience teaching, having students ranging in age from 8 to 80. He uses the Suzuki method books, Carl Flesch’s scale system, Rhythmic Training by Robert Starer and other exercises and method books. In addition to teaching classical music, Nathan is also a fiddler and improv musician, able to teach you how to read chord charts and improvise while playing in a band. Whatever style you were interested in studying, Nathan has a method to teach you.

No student is the same, yet each one needs the same basic foundation - ability to read music, rhythmic accuracy, and quality tonal production are essential to mastering the violin. Regardless of what style of music you desire to learn, these are the key components you need to succeed.
